Peter M Bach The International Conference on Urban Drainage 2021

Peter M Bach

I am a Research Scientist at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science & Technology (Eawag) and an honorary adjunct research fellows Monash University Australia. My research focus is on Blue Green Systems and how we can plan such systems to make cities more liveable, climate-resilient and ecologically sustainable. I work on interdisciplinary topics within this space, in particular the integrated modelling of future scenarios to develop planning and infrastructure solutions that are multi-functional and can enhance ecosystem services in urban spaces. I am best known for the integrated planning-support system UrbanBEATS (www.urbanbeatsmodel.com), which I have been developing together with an international network of collaborators. I am also the current chair of the IWA Working Group on Modelling Integrated Urban Water Systems and part of the management committee of the IWA Specialist Group on Modelling and Integrated Assessment. I am also Managing Editor of the new IWA Open Access Journal Blue Green Systems.
