Christelle Schang

Christelle completed a Master of Civil Engineering and Urban Planning at the INSA Lyon, France in 2009. She completed her research project on developing a new technology for stormwater treatment in partnership with the Civil Engineering department of Monash University in 2008. She has been part of teh EPHM laboratory since its creation in 2010. Her work involves the testing and assessment of WSUD technology, rainwater treatment technologies to provide alternate sources of indoor hot water but also microbial risk assessment of recreational water located along the Yarra River and in Port Phillip Bay. Recently, she has focused on the development, testing and validation of passive sampler technology and RT-qPCR for the surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater as part of the ColoSSoS project.
