Greg Mashiah
Greg Mashiah is a civil/environmental engineer in New South Wales, Australia, specialising in water cycle management and raising community awareness. After 8 years in consulting Greg joined Maclean Shire Council (now amalgamated into Clarence Valley Council) as Design Engineer in 2001. In October 2004 Greg was appointed as Manager Water and Wastewater at Clarence Valley Council (now titled Manager Water Cycle) and is responsible for drinking water, sewerage, floodplain and coastal management. Greg's stormwater and sewer projects have been recognised with numerous national and international awards including a 2014 IWA global honour award in the “Planning” category for the innovative community engagement and procurement of the Iluka Sewerage Scheme. Greg is a Fellow of Engineers Australia and in 2010 was awarded the Engineers Australia Medal by Newcastle Division in recognition of his service to regional engineers. In 2012 the Australian Water Association (AWA) NSW Branch inducted Greg into the Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers in recognition of his service to regional members and in 2015 the branch awarded Greg its "Roger Pettit" award in recognition of his service to the regional water industry.
