Franz Kevin F Geronimo
A solutions-oriented Civil and Environmental Engineer (since 2011) that focuses on ‘bioretention’ systems, sustainable development, climate change adaptation, low impact development (LID) technologies, soil microorganism studies, environmental engineering, non-point source pollution control, hydrology, nature-based solution for water, urban runoff treatment, stormwater management and water resources management. Involved and participated in 19 different environmental engineering projects and research since 2011 in South Korea and since 2014 in the Philippines. Knowledgeable in sustainable development and its relevance to the local (Korea and Philippines) and global socio-economic and political setting. Represented youth in various events including water leaders round table discussion during the Korea International Water Week 2018, panelist of the Korea Water Forum special session during the Smart Water Grid International Conference 2020, and rapporteur during the online satellite event for the 9th World Water Forum to be held in Dakar, Senegal organized by UNESCO-Jakarta in 2020. Received eight (8) and six (6), conference presentation-related awards and leadership/outstanding achievement awards, respectively from the universities, organizations, and the Korean government. Presented a total of 21 research results in different international conferences. Published a total of 13 and 25 research articles in Korean domestic journals and SCI/SCI-E journals, respectively.
