Danielle Dagenais
Danielle Dagenais is the Chair of the School of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture of the Université de Montreal, Canada and she is a full professor at that School. She holds degrees in Agronomy (B.Sc.(Agr.) Plant Science, McGill University, Montreal), Environmental Engineering (M.Sc.A., École Polytechnique de Montreal) and Environmental Design (Ph.D., Université de Montreal). Her research and publications deal with the implementation of green infrastructures or phytotechnologies for urban stormwater management and adaptation to climate change from a technical, planning and social perspective. She collaborates with municipalities or provincial or federal ministries as a researcher or a consulting expert. Her present projects deal with the role of plant species to enhance the performance of green infrastructures in cold climate in cities and along highways. She is a coresearcher on a project to adapt a decision aid tool to implement Green Infrastructure developed in Australia to the Canadian context. In 2019, she was awarded the Henry-Teuscher Award by the Montreal Botanical Garden for her significant contribution to advancement of horticulture in Quebec.
